Canister was bought at a thrift store for .49. These canisters can be bought anywhere

Ribbon
Step 1:

Use a piece of 12x12 cardstock {Moxxie How Do I Love Thee Lucky In Love Reverse papers} for the strip to go around the lid.  This will be cut using scissors 2 inches wide and 12 inches long. 

You will also need a smaller piece of this to finish the back, as the strip is not long enough to cover entire lid. This smaller size will be 2 inches.

Using a 1 inch paintbrush and Modge Podge, you will adhere this onto the lid. 

First cover the lid and place the strip onto the lid, and then use Modge Podge to cover the paper strip itself to assure adhering.

Allow that to dry for 5 minutes.

After the strip has dried, you can add the ribbon. 

You will need scrapbooking sticky tape to stick this down and also the ribbon size should be 1/2 yard. You can use any type of ribbon you wish. 

Adhere using scrapbooking sticky tape.

Next you will move to the actual top of lid.

Using a 1  inch paintbrush and Modge Podge you will adhere this onto the lid. 

First cover the lid using the Modge Podge and then with the Moxxie How Do I Love Thee cardstock stickers. 

Make sure that you Modge Podge both front and back of stickers to ensure adhering.

Allow drying for 5 minutes.

Next you will cut with scissors out of one part of the Moxxie How Do I Love The Love Me Knots papers and set aside.Cutting with scissors another smaller sized ribbon {approx. 3 inches} to embellish. 

Adhere the ribbon first using scrapbooking sticky tape.

Then you can add the cut Moxxie How Do I Love The Love Me Knots papers {should look like a flower from cut}. 

Adhere this flower on by using pop dots to make it stick up.

Now that the lid is complete, you can set this aside to dry any further if needed.

Canister itself:Cut using scissors out 10 strips of paper using Moxxie How Do I Love Thee line {you can choose which papers you would like to use for these strips}. 

These strips will need to be in the size of 10 inches long by 2 inches wide. I had you cut 10 in case you needed more, but we should use less.

After the strips are cut, you will begin placing them onto the actual canister one at a time.Using your 1 inch paintbrush you will adhere using Modge Podge to the canister as well as each strip of paper. This will ensure it sticking to canister.

Go around the entire canister and cover.

After you have covered the entire canister allow drying for 10 minutes to ensure that it has had enough time to dry.

While that is drying, you can create the heart to place on the front of the canister for the embellishment.

Take your Coluzzle swivel knife and Coluzzle heart template and create a heart {the biggest heart on the template} in black cardstock.

Next use your Coluzzle swivel knife and your Coluzzle heart template and create a heart {the next one down from the biggest heart size} out of Moxxie How Do I Love Thee True Love reverse papers. 

Adhere using scrapbooking sticky tape to the back of the black cardstock papers.

Then taking your Coluzzle swivel knife and your Coluzzle heart template, create a heart {the middle sized one} out of Moxxie How Do I Love Thee Hugs and Kisses papers. 

Adhere using scrapbooking sticky tape to the upper left side of the bigger hearts.

After you have created all of these hearts, use the Moxxie How Do I Love Thee rubons and place a heart of your choice onto white cardstock paper. 

Adhere to the upper left hand corner of the hearts with scrapbooking sticky tape.

Next, place the Moxxie How Do I Love Thee cardstock stickers {xoxo and smooch} onto the smaller black heart with a brad.

Take the Moxxie chipboard and using the Moxxie How Do I Love Thee cardstock stickers {sweetheart} stick onto the right hand side of the Moxxie How Do I Love Thee True Love reverse papers.

Once you have completed all of this, using your 1 inch paintbrush, place Modge Podge over the entire heart and embellishments to create a lasting effect.

Allow this to dry for 10 minutes due to thickness.

Once this is dry you can adhere the heart onto the front of the canister with scrapbooking sticky tape.

You will lastly punch a hole in the side of the canister to run the ribbon through.  

Tie a knot in one end of the ribbon, pull through the hole. 

Pull the ribbon through the opposite hole to the inside of the canister and knot in place.

Fill the canister with candy or a bottle of bubbly and share with your favorite sweetheart!
